Leo

Sun Season Approximately July 23- August 22

Element Fire

Ruling Planet The Sun

House 5th

Symbol The Lion

Stuff To Love Confident, generous, warm, loyal

Stuff to look out for Egotistical, demanding, self-centered

Powered by the Sun, their ruling planet, Leo energy eseudes confidence, vitality, creative power, and a clearly defines sense of self.

Leo energy reminds us to live big, wild, creative, and proud.

Why We Need Leo Energy

The Sun’s journey through its home sign of Leo takes place during the dead center of the summer season, when the days are longest and the temperature is hottest. While Cancer season is all about tending to our emotions, Leo takes us out of that watery and moonlit hibernation and drags us directly out into the sunshine without skipping a beat. This is a time to embrace the heat and intensity of midsummer energy. Soon the days will start getting shorter, and Leo wants you to show off who you are with confidence and zeal!

How We Can Work with the Energy of Leo Season

If you’re feeling shy about sharing your artwork or passion, putting yourself out there for a lover or job, or feeling stuck in the throes of imposter syndrome, ask yourself, “What would Leo do?”

Leo would primp up the best parts of themselves, and then shine, just like the Sun itself. Leos have confidence, but that doesn’t mean this signs energy isn’t also riddled with insecurities. The downside of having such a large ego is that its sheer size makes it a bit fragile at time, and needs twice the stroking and gassing up. The difference, though, is that at the end of the day, Leo energy knows what it is. It knows how strong, vital, bright, and important it is. So the next time you’re feeling less than confident about something, channel your inner Leo to rawr your way through and grab the spotlight that is rightfully yours.

”Clear Quartz is known as the "master healer" and will amplify energy and thought, as well as the effect of other crystals.  It absorbs, stores, releases and regulates energy.  Clear Quartz draws off negative energy of all kinds, neutralising background radiation, including electromagnetic smog or petrochemical emanations.  It balances and revitalises the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual planes.  Cleanses and enhances the organs and subtle bodies and acts as a deep soul cleanser, connecting the physical dimension with the mind.  Clear Quartz enhances psychic abilities.  It aids concentration and unlocks memory.  Stimulates the immune system and brings the body into balance.  Clear Quartz (Crystal Quartz, Rock Crystal) harmonises all the chakras and aligns the subtle bodies.” - Charms of Light

Rhodochrosite

“Rhodochrosite is a manganese carbonate mineral with chemical composition MnCO₃. In its pure form, it is typically a rose-red color, but impure specimens can be shades of pink to pale brown. It streaks white, and its Mohs hardness varies between 3.5 and 4. Its specific gravity is between 3.5 and 3.7.” - Wikipedia

Rhodochrosite Chakra Healing and Balancing Energy

“Rhodochrosite reflects the Light of the heart and love and stimulates the Heart Chakra. The Heart Chakra is located near the center of the breastbone and regulates our interaction with the external world and controls what we embrace and what we resist. It gives us the balancing ability to be ourselves within the environment and helps in our relationships.

Rhodochrosite’s task is also to clear and activate the Solar Plexus Chakra, the energy distribution center, and the chakra of relationships. This chakra is located between the ribcage and navel and controls the immune and digestive systems. When balanced physically, we have the strength to fight infections, are free of allergic reactions, and are able to use the nutrients we ingest. When the Solar Plexus is out of balance spiritually, we feel fear – of the disappointment or displeasure of others, or to subordinating our life and pleasures to the will of others. Spiritually, when the Solar Plexus is in balance we are free to interpret the world through our own thoughts and emotions and not live in fear of violating the dictums of others.” - Crystal Vaults

Schumann Resonance

Schumann Resonance

“At any given moment about 2,000 thunderstorms roll over Earth, producing some 50 flashes of lightning every second. Each lightning burst creates electromagnetic waves that begin to circle around Earth captured between Earth's surface and a boundary about 60 miles up. Some of the waves - if they have just the right wavelength - combine, increasing in strength, to create a repeating atmospheric heartbeat known as Schumann resonance. This resonance provides a useful tool to analyze Earth's weather, its electric environment, and to even help determine what types of atoms and molecules exist in Earth's atmosphere.

The waves created by lightning do not look like the up and down waves of the ocean, but they still oscillate with regions of greater energy and lesser energy. These waves remain trapped inside an atmospheric ceiling created by the lower edge of the "ionosphere" - a part of the atmosphere filled with charged particles, which begins about 60 miles up into the sky. In this case, the sweet spot for resonance requires the wave to be as long (or twice, three times as long, etc) as the circumference of Earth. This is an extremely low frequency wave that can be as low as 8 Hertz (Hz) - some one hundred thousand times lower than the lowest frequency radio waves used to send signals to your AM/FM radio. As this wave flows around Earth, it hits itself again at the perfect spot such that the crests and troughs are aligned. Voila, waves acting in resonance with each other to pump up the original signal.

While they'd been predicted in 1952, Schumann resonances were first measured reliably in the early 1960s. Since then, scientists have discovered that variations in the resonances correspond to changes in the seasons, solar activity, activity in Earth's magnetic environment, in water aerosols in the atmosphere, and other Earth-bound phenomena.” - Source: NASA

bee balm

“Traditionally, Bee Balm flowers have carried the symbolic meaning of sympathy, clarity of thought, prosperity, and protection. Bee balm was an important plant in sweat lodge ceremonies of East Coast Native American tribes. It also played a pinch-hitter role when colonists needed a drinkable substitute after the Boston Tea Party. Some say its red flowers associated it with fire and Mars.”

What Does the Bee Balm Flower Symbolize?

“Because of its many uses as a medicinal plant, bee balm most commonly symbolizes good health along with protection. It also represents fertility – often seen as a hallmark of good health – and can promote restful sleep.

Bee balm symbolizes good fortune in another way, too – it can be used to represent wealth and money. Its various colors take on different meanings, too, but more often than not the plant has positive connotations and represents good health, protection from illness, and prosperity.”

Medicinal Properties of Bee Balm

Bee balm is antimicrobial and soothing, so it’s often used to treat colds and flu.  It also has a soothing effect on the digestive tract and helps to treat indigestion, bloating and nausea.  It’s more than just soothing on the digestive system and its antispasmodic properties also help it treat menstrual cramps as well as coughs.

Externally, it’s used to treat scrapes, stings, and rashes.

Bee balm is also nervine, which has a gentle calming effect on the nervous system, similar to lemon balm.

Bee Balm Herbal Steams

Not only does bee balm smell wonderful, but a herbal sachet used to make herbal steam can help clear your nasal passages.  Bee balm has a lot of thymol, the same constituent that makes thyme a natural decongestant.

Moon

What Are Lunations?

Lunation refers to either a new Moon or a full Moon, which happen about two weeks apart within each lunar cycle. The Moon’s energy is especially potent and powerful during these points in the monthly cycle, as they represent the Moon in its most extreme states of visibility: in full view (full Moon) or completely invisible (new Moon).

A new Moon typically occurs when the Moon is in a conjunction with the Sun (which means both luminaries are near the same spot in the zodiac). Visually, this is when the Moon has gone black and looks to have disappeared from the sky (which is why it’s also called a dark Moon). This marks the beginning of a brand-new lunar cycle — the Moon is beginning a new journey.

From there, the Moon waxes (or grows larger) for about two weeks until it becomes a full Moon. A full Moon typically takes place when the Moon is in opposition to the Sun (meaning that it is in the opposite sign). This is when the Moon’s face is fully lit and within fully visibility from the Earth. After the Moon reaches its peak fullness, it begins waning, growing smaller.

Personal Goals and the Lunar Cycle:

If your personal goal involves beginning something new or expanding something in your life, the new Moon is the moment where you begin. Your intention is born here, just as the new lunar cycle is born. This is the very first step and the laying out of the initial foundation. Now’s the time to clear the slate and create space for your new undertaking. Make room for your intention to breathe as you release it into The Universe.

This lunation marks the beginning of a new cycle, and the energy is full of growth potential. That said, its energy is highly fertile, and this is the time to plant energetic seeds. If you want to add something to your life, build upon something, grow something, or begin something, now is the point in the lunar cycle that you should state your intention and put it out into The Universe.
